@kyuss Oh dear… So much to learn… You poor naive creature…. I’m a Logic Pro user, and i can say that impartially, Ableton is a good program, and fruity loops, is well-you’ll find out if ever take music production seriously.

    @ghostsciencemusic
    ableton suite 8.01

    was riddeled with faults

    FACT

    were on 8.11 now

some of those faults have been fixed

  9. MDelphiQ September 3rd, 2010 1:38 pm

@yater the guitar is plugged into a separate unit…most likely an audio interface and the footswitch which he uses to send a midi signal to overdub or play is plugged into the APC40.

@NOTSODOTCALM…I have a macbook pro thats maxxed out cuh….I don’t know which version of Live you runnin but 8.1.1 had nasty bugs…but everythings on point now with that BETA 8.1.3b…extra fast and stable bossman….and Live is Universal binary software so it runs pretty much the same on a PC with specs that are up to par ya dig.

  11. NOTSODOTCALM September 3rd, 2010 1:45 pm

@MDelphiQ get a mac pc can t handle it

  12. MDelphiQ September 3rd, 2010 1:51 pm

@ ghostscience…i have a dope ass computer and live 8 has crashed on me like 6 times or so…apparently there are quite a few actions that cause it to crash but havent had it happen since 8.1.1….@ ceethe…uh probably shitty computers with loaded HD’s while running VSTs which honestly aren’t even necessary in Live in my opinion

  13. marksman55 September 3rd, 2010 2:05 pm

@ghostsciencemusic ya man i agree with ya… Live 8 is pretty damn sweet. I ever run VSTs but i can have a million samples going at once and it never peaks above 45% and thats even using rewire with reason and having a million digital synths playing. i have had it crash though but that was because of a sound driver issue… once i fixed it… ive never had a problem… Live rocks, man

  14. ghostsciencemusic September 3rd, 2010 3:04 pm

@ ceeth the producer, ableton is the shit you either have a shitty computer or dont know how to use your program , i have never had a crash and fix it in preferences i can run a million effects and a ton of clips at once and my cpu never goes past 40% its all about setting that up

  15. DMAlivenow September 3rd, 2010 3:13 pm

    @ceetheproducer…

i havent really had many problems with live 98, but i am running an intel i7 with 4 GB ram, and the most CPU usage ive seen is about 45 %. which seems kinda high for a quad core processor actually.

Anyways ive heard of the live 8 crashing nightmares….
i am confident in Ableton to fix these bugs..

  16. ceetheproducer September 3rd, 2010 3:23 pm

no, sooner or later it will crash, live/suite 8 is riddeled with faults, ableton live used to be a half decent daw yearz ago, back when it was simalar to Cockos Reaper in that it came like a blank canvas with just a few plug ins, now it kumz (like cubase) bundeled with loads of crap, the cpu usage in live is now fru the roof!!!! i know of people installing software to let the cpu spill into a hardrive in live (kuz it often hits 100 which = CRASH!) and have saw cpu peak at 180% in these cases!!!

  17. mariadelaocuenta September 3rd, 2010 3:57 pm

  18. djshortsleeve September 3rd, 2010 4:30 pm

  19. GregorEicher September 3rd, 2010 5:23 pm

    Youre welcome.

  20. yater September 3rd, 2010 5:40 pm

    Hey guys,

Does he just plug his guitar directly into the APC or a different mixer??

    Thanks

  21. csselement September 3rd, 2010 6:11 pm

Is there a way to record separate cells in a column with the looper? For example: record 4 layers in looper then have each of those split into individual cells for independent combinations? Or is this what looper already does (hard to tell in the video)?

  22. replicatrapmouse September 3rd, 2010 6:35 pm

The Looper has an “Undo” function.

  23. omyiga September 3rd, 2010 6:50 pm

Huh? how does he delete one layer? (or how does he go back to the first loop? can anyone explain me how to do that?
    thanks in advance

  24. joeyparanoia September 3rd, 2010 7:14 pm
