  6. chubstar666 September 9th, 2010 11:43 pm

why the hell would you want to do that?

i swear the point of a cdj is that you don’t have to use a laptop/computer.

    great video thanks,

am i correct in assuming then that you can load more timecode onto the inbuilt “second” deck and control both serato channels from the one unit? – im thinking u could but would be nice to confirm this..

if so then this is the one for me.. :)
just hope i can find somebody still selling them new as thyre discontinued.

Are these better than pioneer’s top of the line cd player for scratching? 0_o

  11. whosthatwrite September 10th, 2010 2:03 am

it all started with ” 2 turntables and a microphone” and now where at “i’ve got to pay 3000 $ to make a scratch”. the circle is closed.

  15. sainifabulous September 10th, 2010 4:17 am

    how much??

  16. foulmouthc1 September 10th, 2010 4:26 am

timecode is a single note that plays through the player, if you change the pitch up the note changes which tells the serato control box to increase the pitch on the software. to controll Serato you either use vinyl decks with timecoded vinyl, cd decks with timecoded cd’s or go for a medi player that does away with timecode and is mapped to the software. you still need the ssl control box. Check out denon hd2500 the denon 4500 midi, pioneer cdj 400 or mep 7000., Numark NS7 or Vestax VCI300

Im just getting into serato & the denon hs 500 but dont understand all this about a timecode? What is it for and is it needed to run with serato?

  19. djunlimitedbass September 10th, 2010 5:54 am

hey agiprodj, i have 1 question which denon is better for serato Denon HS5500 or Denon S3700

  20. ryantk520 September 10th, 2010 6:34 am

sweet….can I also use the effects on the 5500 with serato?

  21. agiprodj September 10th, 2010 6:36 am

Yes you can play with both decks on Serato using the layer option on the HS5500s.

  22. ryantk520 September 10th, 2010 7:05 am

hey agiprodj…..2 questions….1) Since the denon 5500 is 2 platters in 1, can it play on both serato decks? 2) Can you use the denon 5500′s effects while using serato?

  23. djfontaine September 10th, 2010 7:29 am

Is it possible to play serato in both channels with just one Denon?. I think it would be if we load the timecode in both “channels” of the denon.

  24. djskoot September 10th, 2010 8:22 am

you lose the key lock because it distorts the timecode

  25. Runner2022 September 10th, 2010 8:51 am

So wait.. the pitch control doesnt work on the 5500 if it is hooked up to serato? What?

Hi, I own 2 DN-HS5500, and I tried to connect them to the PC but they aren’t recognised, I think its because they don’t have a hard disk… because instead of the hard disk they have a CD drive… Do you have any idea if I can connect them to my pc with any software, I just need them to play Music Videos with Virtual Dj or Club Dj Pro… Any help is appreciated thanks!
