@some307 that sells the information to marketing companies for a profit. Would you be ok to find out that your Nike shoes has had a GPS locator tracking everywhere you went to sell to companies?

@Hollen949B Not what this is intended for. Mainly meant for things like netbooks where the main use of it is for borwsingt he web. etc, as the name suggets.

Chrome OS is a realization of future OS IMO
it’s like if the world is full of speedy internet access, you can use Chrome OS as your PC
and of course you can always double boot it to something offline
dont you think iPad is the same and better version of what you are trying to do..??
I just realised… this is stupid.
The idea is to use it on Laptops that are normally slow because they are small.
They are small because you carry them around with you.
How many people have 3g internet?
Do you expect them to only use it at wifi spots or at home?
and if I go on holiday abroad I can’t even access my documents because they are on the cloud and I wouldn’t have 3g internet abroad unless I paid an arm and leg in which case I would have enough money to get a good fast laptop.

OS stands for Operating System which is the base software designed to operate your computer system. Therefore, a web browser designed to run your system is still an OS known as a we based operating system.
Google Chrome os is not a OS. It’s a huge web browser that runs your system
add a simple way to play and store files on your local machine and i’d use it as an os for a htpc
