    Some great points made here. But at the end of the day it’s all about personal preference, and opinion. Clients don’t know the difference in most cases. The new DJ Spandex Screens use a new black boarder that looks GREAT, and doesn’t leave any left over area. So yes… while many agree, I disagree for the first time! lol. But like I said, it’s all personal preference.

    Also.. for Brandon and others. They DO make a cover for DJ screens and Stretchy screens to make them square. The look you like more. I believe that Global Truss has a product out that does the same.

    @uptownxpress

    and yet all the glow skirt products are Made out of Lycra Spandex. Can’t get any better than same material as your DJ skirts. I’ve been making things out of Lycra Spandex like crazy and using uplights to project on them. Check out my recent vids.

    Yeah a Da-lite for a 7′ x 10 with the frame and stand… looking around 1,000 to 2,000… might can find one used for $900. While I have a THREE screens for $900. A 15ft screen and 2 10fts with lycra spandex. Does the job for me.

    @sainifabulous these screens cost just 500.00 each

    @uptownxpress thanks bro

    Wow Brandon! I’m so glad you said it! You are 100% RIGHT in my mind bro, these look so much nicer, the spandex djscreens do seem cheap and do not have that pro look. For example, we spend all this effort on facades, scrim covers etc, then ppl put the djsreen thing and it doesn’t fit. This however fits perfectly! Very very nice my man!

    I been looking for a projector screens. Cinefold seems like a good brand and more affordable then da lite.

    Can’t wait to see them at a gig!

  13. DJCD01 September 7th, 2010 1:41 am

    @DJCD01

    Again, you can’t use these types of screens outdoor because of the dew. If you do use these outdoor… Brandon, which is probably seldomly, make sure you wipe those down very well. The screen will stick together if you don’t.

    As for what you say about the white all over… If you know how to set it up… only tthe pulled corners don’t have picture. Done plenty of gigs with the spandex type screens and da-lite.. I just prefer the spandex type. Also done plenty of outdoor movies.

    Brandon great video. very impressed. I have been looking at the blow up screens for outdoor summer gigs

  15. DJCD01 September 7th, 2010 2:50 am

    @DJCD01

    The reason why I like the spandex.. I don’t have to be as careful with the spandex material than the da-lite and what you have. I can use it as a backdrop on a 15 ft trussing and have two 10ft screens on my other lighting trusses.

    –Would have posted this earlier… Youtube. Well there are also Da-lite products (which is similar) that I’ve used before. But for DJ.. for a FAST setup.. .I use DJ Screens or Stretchy Screens. The same exact material that is used for all the Glow Skirt products by DJ skirts. Also. You can wash the screens…. and you can’t use these outdoors.
    If you do… you have to wipe the dew off the screens before anything.

    To rent a bigger screen than you have here in NC was $100. for a 10′ x 7′

    how much for 1?

  18. Neckwerk2 September 7th, 2010 4:35 am

    These screens look really good. I can’t wait until you show them again at a gig. Keep rockin’

    da-lite makes the same exact thing! even the case looks the same! the only difference is that the da-lite one has a bigger screen and can be raised higher or lower

  20. djdice19 September 7th, 2010 4:49 am

    I made my own screen similar to these with spandex and a frame. I bought the fabric and had my person sew it so I could slip pipe through the edges. This way, it makes a perfect square like yours. I agree, it looks much more professional!
