In this video, April Smith and Peter Davies perform their very first time Live VJ Remix performance using Isadora VJ Software learning from the most gifted, talented and very excellent Media Artist Mia Makela as part of Vision Division media residency program. ——————————– VISION DIVISION: Live Cinema with live video mixing, music, and community on Saturday Sept 18 night at W2 Art Gallery Space at 157 W. Hastings by Cambie Experience video performances by young local media artists just wrapping up a 4-day video remixing and creation residency with Mia Makela. Mia is a Finish media artist based in Berlin, and recently spent eight years living in Barcelona. Mia worked with young Vancouver media artists learning to remix video and live streams for site-specific projections. The participants are under-30 marginalized media artists facing systemic barriers to advancing a media arts practice. Produced by W2 and New Forms Festival, in association with Bladerunners and the Western Front This was filmed by April Smith of AHA MEDIA on a Nokia N95 mobile cameraphone. April is passionate and skilled in making Nokia films by exploring mobile media production through the camera lens of a cellphone.
