Serato Scratch Live with Korg padKontrol Midi Demo

Just playing around with Serato Scratch Live v 1.9 and my Korg padKontrol. I was mapping functions to different buttons on the padKontrol and saving them as scenes. Scene 1 is for setting cue points, scene 2 for loops…etc. This is mainly a video as I get used to the loop functions. YES, the rhythm is a little off in the beginning…but this was not meant to show off any skills…just to get used to the setup

Serato Scratch Live with Korg nanoKontrol – tip #1

I changed the way my nanoKontrol works so that the light in the buttons stays on when I hit bypass in VSL. I have the first 4 buttons on the bottom mapped to the momentary bypass function. The top button has been set to the same CC# as the bottom button but the behavior is change to toggle instead of momentary. When I map the VSL function I only map the bottom button to the momentary bypass. Because the top button has the same CC# it automatically maps. Now when the bypass light is on in the VSL effect, the light in the corresponding channel strip stays on. Next tip. (coming soon) I have a scene on the nanoKontrol that mirrors the controls on my trigger finger. Whatever I assign the trigger finger, I have a matching control on the nano. I have done this so that I can have complete midi functionality with either or both controllers.

Korg Nano Pad with Serato Scratch Live SSL Overview

Here’s a quick overview of the Korg Nano Pad being used with Serato. The Nano Pad is pretty good. There’s no noticable lag and the buttons have great response to touch. I have my 1st scene set up to for use with 1-3 cues points and 4,8 and 16 beat loops for both the left and right decks. The Nano pad is really easy to setup with Serato. It only took me 3-5 minutes. I you need help, let me know and I will post a video explaining the setup. This really opens up a new bag of tricks to use at your gigs. Stay posted for the Serato tricks video with the Korg Nano Pad.
