Oh, I should’ve guessed You would have blamed all of our problems on your MMS… restrictions Once you were much quicker But your age has slowed you down Plus she takes better pictures And not to mention video and sound I must confess I got my mac on with iPhone 3GS Oh but this is not goodbye You could always be my spare And I’d prefer that anyways Cause I don’t have AppleCare I must confess I got my mac on with iPhone 3GS Words & Music © 2009 Julian Smith Music

View this with the annotations turned on, it’ll make more sense. A friend recently started writing music using a keyboard controller and mentioned that everything tends to sound similar for him…I suggested trying music entry formats that move him into areas unfamiliar to his muscles…like grid entry, or “painting” on a piano roll loop. This video is an example of me just fiddling little riffs and phrases using without actually playing on the controller. It’s all point and click meant to be a visual example of how to try it. It’s a nice way to force yourself to try new methods of composing outside what’s comfortable to you.

It’s a big multimedia project, presented in world preview, which encloses videoart, music and poetry in one space, in one moment. For three days – from the 12th to the 14th of September 2008 – a big spaceship will be at Arena Civica in Milan, for a “total” audiovisual show in 13 pictures, which is at the same time a concert, cinema poetry but, above all, an emotional trip thanks to Vittorio Cosma sounds, Masbedo images and Aldo Nove words.
