I am new to this, and I am in need of help installing this program. I am running on a Windows 7, 64 bit, Intel i5, 2.40ghz. I am having trouble getting the double decks, I have seen the video above but I don’t have “rane serrato SL1 box” do I need this in order to continue? If not what can I do in order for it to work properly

The “hardware disconnected” error occurs all the time on my xp machine an the fix oaths same as described in your video. So this isn’t really a windows 7 issue.

does this work for 32 bit?

  12. Krzeecee September 9th, 2010 1:18 am

Question do these fixes work for Laptops with Windows 7? Which is better Windows 64 or 32 for SSL?

Brian – great video… I just got my windows 7 i7 core dell laptop xps and its great… I hooked in my sl1 box and opened virtual dj… i selected external mixer and for sound card there was no drop down for SLI (like there is for my win xp machine). so I chose Asio drivers and hit apply, and then it gave some error … something like not enough samples or something with the sound card… so I never got it to work… have you got VDJ to work with serato box as your soundcard with win 7 yet?

    Thanks Brian!

Just a heads up. Disabling UAC can be a little bit risky if you don’t have adequate protection on your PC and you expose it to threats from nefarious sources. The first thing I do after installing 7 or Vista is disable it, but there is risk, so be cautious if you do it.

Aside from that, some nice tips for the frustrated 7 and SL1 community. Keep it up!

Any word on when the serato team will come up with window 7 64bit drivers?
Maybe when Windows 8 comes out … lol
    thanks for the info

To Brian VDJ is all ready compatible. Whatever midi controllers you are gonna use with VDJ search the manufactures driver updates for our Windows 7 64bit O.S. Many are Exe. files & will initialize there self. In VDJ go to config-mappers-check mark midi search & if done correctly you are good to go. Just Make sure you have the most current Mappings available. I’m goofing with that DP2 & VDJ 6.0.6 & it’s really fun. Mac is Mac & PC is PC. Utilize what you have. The focus is on our clients not us:)

Our Community Rocks! The Vista O.S. in general was horrible!! No matter how much ram you’d install Vista would always eventually eat up half which results in higher CPU usage. Windows 7 is the footprint of the XP O.S. I dumped Vista 2 weeks ago & upgraded to (7) Home Premium. I disabled the Configs (Brian’s Suggestions) as I had done in Vista. 75% via taskbar PROCESSES were gone in a Vista vs (7) comparison which results in very low CPU usage on 64bit systems. Probally applies to 32bit too. P&E.

Oh noes PC vs Mac debate lol Any way I’m surprised the take up of 64 bit systems has been sooo slow both with PC’s and Mac’s..runing a MAC in 64 bit is just as much as of a pain in the arse as running 64bit on a PC at the moment. I used to hate those get a mac comments from smug a*holes but I recently just got my self one hahah I must say it’s quite nice

guys if you are using any new controllers with virtual dj gotts log on to all the manufacturers web pages and download all new drivers… if you don’t you will lose all the mapped buttons.. and the display will be crazy… windows 7 needs updated drivers for all controllers and sound cards which work with xp and vista
this works with all controllers bar the dmc2 which i own if any1 has any ideas PLEASE HELP i have lost the display on the controller.

@midnightcharger2 Only the Euro models (to my knowledge) have voltage selecters on them. Not sure if I still own a Euro. I’ll have to check to see what I have and get back to ya
